Day by day schedule:
Day 1 Off to The Emeral Isle!

Depart T.F. Green Airport in Warwick/Providence, Rhode Island
Day 2
Dublin
Arrive Dublin, Ireland

Neighborhood tour of Dublin with stop at Trinity College and visit to The Long Library and Book of Kells!  In the evening we will have our Welcome dinner!

Day 3
Dublin
Dublin History

After full breakfast we will board a bus to visit some important locations in Irish history: Croke Park, the home of the Gaelic Athletics Association (GAA) and learn the history of the Irish games; Kilmainham Gaol where many Irish rebels were jailed and executed; and finally, the Guinness Storehouse and the famous Gravity Bar!

Day 4
Dublin
Dublin on your own!

After full breakfast, enjoy a day completely on your own to explore this fascinating city!
CGE course participants are required to visit
The General Post Office (GPO) to view the multimedia Witness to History: 1916 Uprising museum with Judy and I. All others are welcome to join us (morning).

Day 5
Dublin
Ancient History

After full breakfast, we will travel deep into the countryside, heading back in time to the seat of the High Kings of Ireland at the Hill of Tara. We then go on to the oldest historical site in Ireland at Bru na Boinne, where we will tour the museum and explore Newgrange, a 5000 year old passage tomb, predating the Egyptian pyramids! Lunch on own at Center. Our last stop of the day is in the small picturesque fishing village of Howth. We drive through Howth Summit where you can end the day with spectacular views looking out over Dublin Bay.

Day 6
Belfast
Beauty in the Mountains

After full breakfast, we will travel southwest into the Wicklow Mountains. The 'Wild Wicklows' is an amazing landscape of granite carved by glaciers into a stunning collection of bogs and lakes. 10th century Glendalough Monastic Site - one of the most beautiful ruins in all of Ireland, is renowned for its magnificent scenery and rich and varied heritage in terms of history and archaeology. Powerscourt Gardens is one of the most beautiful gardens in Ireland! They stretch over 47 acres and offer a sublime blend of formal gardens, sweeping terraces, statues and ornamental lakes, secret hollows and rambling walks. A stop for lunch (on own) in the beautiful Victorian village of Enniskerry

Day 7
Belfast
Belfast and The Troubles

After full breakfast, we will check out of the hotel, and board our bus to Belfast! We will cross the border into Northern Ireland (The UK) and, after having lunch (on own) we will take a Black Cab tour of Belfast, featuring the Shankill and Falls Roads, before checking into our hotel. Remainder of day free to explore Belfast!

Day 8
Belfast
Natural Wonders

After full breakfast we will visit and tour the natural wonder of the Giant's Causeway, we will also be stopping at the Dark Hedges (as seen on Game of Thrones) and the Bushmills Distillery as well as a castle in ruins on the northern cliffs of Ireland.

Day 9
Dublin
Belfast and Titanic (or free!)

After full breakfast, we will check out of the hotel, and leave or luggage at the hotel security desk.  You are free to explore Belfast or you can join us on a visit to Titanic Belfast, an amazing multimedia museum dedicated to the Titanic and her memory.  We will be taking public transportation and plan on returning to the hotel for departure to Dublin by 1:00pm.  We will again cross the border back into Ireland and checking into our hotel. Remainder of afternoon free to explore Dublin!  Tonight we will experience Celtic Nights traditional Irish dance and music dinner show! What better way to end our magnificent endeavor than with some good old Irish Craic! (it sort of means news, gossip, fun, entertainment, and enjoyable conversation!)

Day 10
Home
Time to bid the Emerald Isle Farewell!

After full breakfast, we will check out of the hotel, and board our bus to Dublin Airport.
