All courses will be conducted both in person and online. Readings, assignments and projects will vary based on level. Students will present final projects in person on a date after we return from Amsterdam Amsterdam, capital of the Netherlands, was once the center of Europe’s most extensive colonial trading empire. Today it is an international city with a diverse population, and home to internationally known museums and historic neighborhoods lining its famous canals. Study tour themes include: pioneering financial and trading roles; global colonization; the future of the social welfare state; and unique Dutch expertise in adapting to global climate change. We will meet with local experts and also discuss the role that experiential learning can play in geography. Professional development credit or graduate educator credit available through FSU’s Center for Global Education, along with a stipend to offset the cost of course-related side trips and entry fees. Email Dr. Otto for more information and a preliminary syllabus. COURSE MATERIALS CAN BE FOUND HERE |
